WATER Center
The water treatment system in Herman Hill Park was designed due to decades of groundwater contamination under downtown. The plant not only treats more than a million gallons of water daily but also teaches the public about water treatment and the importance of water. The modern architecture of the Water Center is a beautiful backdrop to outdoor fountains, a large and impressive free-standing fish observatory, and pleasant trails that lead across a creek and into the park. Inside, a museum features aquariums and interactive exhibits that provide exciting learning experiences. Outdoor features, open dusk to dawn; museum hours, Monday, Wednesday, Friday 1-4:30 p.m. For tours, call.
