The Miracle Cafe
Community members found all the wood scraps they could to build this new cafe after the 2011 tornado destroyed much of the town, including the historic home that the cafe first occupied. Salvaged tables and chairs from the original cafe are now the furniture of the new one, and other scraps have been incorporated as trim around the windows and doors. It's not only the place to find an excellent roast beef dinner or a breakfast omelet, but it's the heart of the community where locals and visitors come to reminisce, sign the guest book, have a piece of pie or a cinnamon roll with a cup of coffee. Hats off to the Reading folks! Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; Friday 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
